Xander

Xander is an adorable Heinz 57 dog. He is a mixed with some serious cuteness and is a lovable

goofball. Xander LOVES people. He is a true people dog. He loves to snuggle and loves being

anywhere his humans are. He is completely potty trained. He can also be totally trusted to be left

in the house unattended and has never been destructive.

He loves to go for walks, but he needs someone willing to continue to work with him on his

leash manners and leash training. He’s making progress, but still needs work. He can get quite

anxious and nervous in new situations or in areas where there is a lot going on and he needs a

home that is willing to work with him through some of his anxieties.

He loves to play with toys and run in the yard. Xander currently lives with 4 other dogs and

would love a home where he can have another playful dog as a buddy and playmate. He would

do best in a home with no kids or older kids, as he does dart through open doors and has been

known to take himself on little field trips around the neighborhood if given the chance to escape

through the front door.

Xander is a smart boy, and he needs a secure yard where he will not be left unattended. If given

enough time alone, Xander will figure out how to escape from most fences. He particularly

knows how to climb a chain link fence or get through a wooden fence if given the opportunity

and is not being watched. A home with a tall vinyl fence would be ideal for him, and the yard

must be secure.

Even at his age, Xander has a lot of energy and needs a home that will keep him active with daily

walks, runs, and/or play time with a canine buddy.

Xander is very good in the house and is generally pretty quiet, but can be a bit barky when the

doorbell rings. He has a great “off” switch and loves to snuggle with his people whenever

possible.

Xander must be in a home with NO cats! He finds them way too tempting to not chase them and

try to get them.

Xander is a happy, go-lucky, cheerful dog and he has such a sweet, gentle nature to him. He’s

one of the sweetest dogs you’ll ever meet and is waiting patiently for his perfect forever home!
