Walking with Widow
Abandoned, alone, and in pain. Scared, Ehrlichia positive (a tick-borne disease), soon to be marked for euthanasia at an out-of-state high-kill shelter. The chances of making it to freedom are slim to none. This is Widow’s story.
At 7 years old, this regal and loyal girl was desperate for rescue. Our volunteer troops on the ground could see her fear and desperation and hastened to get her to safety.
Once in our care, we noticed she was limping and had some weird divots on her hips. She could not sit normally (because of a past injury or hip dysplasia) and X-rays show her hip socket was not in line, causing further injury and constant pain. Our trusted vets have determined that an FHO (hip repair) is necessary to give her quality and longevity of life. This will put an end to the pain she had been living with for an unknown amount of time.
Widow is a fiercely loyal and loving girl who wants to always be with her people to shower them with affection. We feel like this surgery is long overdue, and that she is very deserving of a pain-free future!
We are hoping to get help to cover the costs of her medical treatment which is quoted at $1800!
Please help us give Widow a walk to remember by donating to help us help her TODAY!
Much appreciation, Widow and the CAWS Team!
