The Great Chihuahua Rescue!
$385 of $2,000 raised
After being notified of a terminally ill caretaker who was desperate for help with a pet situation that had spiraled out of control, our volunteers immediately took action to help.
Upon our arrival we quickly realized that most of the 8 pups we would be helping, (all various ages of related chihuahua mixes) were in desperate need of serious medical attention, and quick.
These precious little souls are terrified and shut down as they have likely never met anyone or been anywhere outside of their immediate living area. Our gracious foster force stepped in with just a moment’s notice to help, care for, and take home these sweet little pups, giving them time and gentle space to decompress.
Each of these animals needs the most very basic of care- spay/neuter and vaccines; however, we are discovering that most of them have serious past-due medical issues such as serious dental decay, heart conditions, and diabetes, that need to be addressed immediately.
This large and abrupt rescue is a volunteer community effort to help a caretaker in over their head, as well as a frantic attempt to rectify the neglect of the animals in the situation.
We need your help!
Rescue efforts like these are SO important, and we desperately need donations to help cover the costs of their immediate medical needs, currently estimated to start at $2000 and go up.
Please help us to help them!
With much appreciation, The CAWS Team
