Helping Gilbert, the Shih Tzu, get his day!
UPDATE – 10/13
Thank you to everyone who has helped us get the care needed to fix up our sweet Gilbert! We are SO HAPPY to report that he is doing considerably well and was able to have some masses removed, his eye/mass fixed, be neutered and got a dental. He is feeling really amazing and is moving about much more happily and comfortably.
Unfortunately, during his exam we did find some concern near his back end that may be a prostate issue or a mass- we will be bringing him back in a month to reassess after he has time to heal from his neuter.
We are STILL in need of donations and only 1/2 way to our goal. We would be so thankful for any additional donations that we might be able to raise to help care for his current and upcoming needs.
Super big thanks- Gilly and The CAWS Team
Poor Gilbert, failed by his people, abandoned in his golden years, sick and miserable in pain – this is his world. After being abandoned at a local vet by a neighbor, CAWS was notified of this precious little old soul, desperate for medical care and for a loving home to help him get back on his feet.
Our best guess is 10-11 years old and a senior for sure. Sporting a mass on his eyelid, covered in cysts, infections, rotting teeth, and packing around a painfully enlarged prostate. Struggling with ailments that the most basic of care could have prevented.
Gilbert deserves better. He deserves to feel great, to be happy, and to be and feel loved during his final years. Finally in a nurturing foster home, CAWS will see to it that all of his medical needs are addressed- immediately. Good quality nutrition, a little exercise and lots of love and treatment for his ailments… ALL of this is attainable with the help of our generous donors and supporters. Will YOU help us get him the care he needs today? Our rescue group is a non-profit, volunteer operated group and can only provide care for Gilbert if we have the donations to do it. Our cost is $1500 to start, and will go up from there. Please, donate to help us help him!
