Help us Fix Finches’ Legs!
Update – 8/27
WONDERFUL NEWS! Little Finch is up and on the move! We are so thankful that he is healing nicely from his surgery! These little kittens are amazing in how quickly they can adjust to 3 legs with such grace. Finch, and his foster buddies, are so thankful for all the donations that we received making this surgery and medical care possible for him.
Yay for Finch!
UPDATE – 8/19
Big day for sweet little Finch today. He was finally healthy enough to undergo surgery to amputate his damaged front leg. With some TLC, rehabilitation, and time he has regained use of his good leg. He will need a couple of solid weeks of recovery but we are super hopeful that he will soon be a successful tripod. In the meantime, he has lots of friends watching over him.
We will continue to post updates as he progresses! Thank you so much to everyone that donated and pulled for him. We are so thankful for his progress and for this opportunity to help him!
With appreciation- The CAWS Team
After receiving a call from a local shelter about a little kitten in dire shape, a nearby CAWS volunteer rushed to its aid.
Little Finch was barely clinging to life, in shock and not mobile – although, still fighting. Our next stop to see our local vet confirmed that one front leg is severely broken and that his other front leg was possibly paralyzed as well- we are unsure of what caused this trauma.
Undergoing surgery when he was barely clinging to life was not an option. We took him home to get feeling better and stronger, hoping to undergo surgery in the coming days.
The GREAT news is that we are seeing more movement and mobility as he grows stronger and more healthy (in BOTH legs!), the bad news is that it comes at an extended cost to us and we will need donations to cover it. We will know better this week but expect our costs to start at $1000 and go up-we need your help!
Please consider a donation today to help us get this sweet little purring baby kitty up and moving again! We are a non-profit animal rescue group and can only help when we have the funds. Thank you for your consideration!
