Help CAWS Give Lizzo a Leg Up on Her New life!
Lizzo came to CAWS as a 10-month old surrender; although her newly-divorced owner knew she could not keep her, she was also fairly confident her ex-partner would abuse her. Liz started her CAWS journey in Vernal, UT, running with and loving on her foster family and their menagerie. So much fun exacerbated a previous leg injury; she’s in need of surgery to repair a torn cruciate ligament.
To get Lizzo the care she needs, she was moved to Salt Lake City, to be closer to the specialists who can work to repair her injury. A visit to AVC confirmed she would need surgery, and CAWS is working to get her scheduled. Her Salt Lake City foster will be able to spend as much time as needed to support her rehabilitation. In the meantime, Lizzo is working on basic commands, training, and mental stimulation – anything to help her rest her leg on the road to recovery.
This lovely, cuddly young pup has a lot of life in her, so let’s get her ready to settle into her forever home.
Please consider making a donation to help CAWS offset the cost of her necessary surgery.
