Getting Oso on the Move

an you imagine the horror…

Sustaining a life-threatening injury, your people (who you trusted to love you unconditionally, as you have them) leave it untreated and uncared for. You suffer, every day, in severe pain… carrying your badly damaged leg and hip… until one day you land yourself at the shelter, possibly by chance, possibly by your family abandoning you, and not just any shelter- a high-kill shelter that will end your life on the 6th day, no questions asked.

This is Oso.

An everyday mixed black dog, at a crappy shelter, in a crappy community where unwanted dogs are a dime a dozen. No one comes. It would seem that no one cares… it’s just a matter of time before his seemingly unimportant life comes to a quiet, unnoticed end.

…but NOT today. Today Oso catches the eye of a volunteer who walks these isles of dogs and works like crazy to save each of them, each life is precious.
Today is Oso’s lucky day- today he found rescue and with CAWS.

Countless volunteers, drivers, helpers, networkers… all of them having a part in his rescue.

Now here, and safe with CAWS- Oso needs our help to start back down the path to the recovery he should have had from the start. His damaged leg now has to be removed and at a cost of nearly $900. Can you help us right this wrong? We need donations to cover this simple, yet life changing procedure.
