Help Charro Heal
UPDATE – 4/23
Charro was stable enough to close his wounds on Thursday and remove his chest tube! He is now in a foster home taking it easy while his broken ribs heal and we make sure that his incision heals cleanly. This sweet boy is so tough, he barely complains about the care needed for his drain, despite the pain he must be in. He seems to know we are helping him feel better. Thank you to all who have donated, we are still a ways from the needed funds to cover his life-saving surgery. Thank you!
Charro is a sweet 2-year-old heeler with a big secret. He disappeared for a few days and returned with a huge gash on his side. Only he knows what happened. The laceration was treated for a couple of days with a good prognosis until his lung collapsed and he developed a huge pneumothorax. That’s when things became critical, and one of our great vets reached out to us. We had to make a quick decision, as Charro needed a chest tube immediately to survive. We are told he is such a sweet soul, so of course, we said yes. Charro will get a chest tube, wound vac, and 24 care for a week to allow him to heal enough to close his wounds. Then he will go to a foster home to recover for a few weeks. Please help us provide this life-saving care for sweet Charro. Thank you!
