By now, many of you have seen (and fallen in love with) little Blueberry! We need your help!
While this sweet fighter is waiting for her unicorn adopter, there are just a few more things she needs to ensure we’re meeting her medical needs in the amazing way that CAWS always does! Thanks to the generous donation of an MRI along with a donated Neurology consult, we could diagnose Blueberry with Chiari Malformation and Syringomyelia – a neurological condition that occurs when the brain is too big for the skull cavity. This puts some pressure on the spinal cord, causing our sweet Bloobs to be wobbly on her feet. This condition may or may not progress, and for now, she intends to live her life as normally as possible for as long as she can. She really doesn’t know she’s any different! On top of her challenges, Blueberry is blind, a result of when she was attacked by another dog. She does amazing finding her way around with predictability and help.
There are just two more things we’d like to provide this amazing little warrior before she settles in with a forever family – a special GI blood panel to ensure that she is getting all the nutrition she needs out of her food so she can stay as strong as possible, and a dental to help improve her breath and address any rotten teefies that might be hiding in her tiny little mouth.
You can help by donating $5, 10, 20, 50, or ANY amount to help us cover the costs of these last medical needs. The GI blood panel is estimated to cost between $200-$300 and they estimate the dental to cost between $400-$700. Your gift of any amount will help us raise this last $2,000 to ensure she has everything she needs. Anything left over will go to help other medical needs dogs that CAWS is caring for.
