CAWS is a volunteer-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to work with the community to help animals.  As one of Utah’s oldest Animal Rescues, CAWS’ ongoing rescue, foster, education and adoption programs helps animals whose time is up at shelters, those who are abandoned, and as our resources allow, those whom their owners can no longer keep.  We are a  No Kill organization

In August 2012 CAWS was named by Salt Lake Magazine as the “Best Place to Adopt a Pet.

In June 2005, at the ninth annual Utah Awards for Distinguished Service to Animals, CAWS was honored to receive the 2005 Nonprofit Animal Organization of the Year award presented by No More Homeless Pets Utah 

Selected as the recipient of the 2000 Utah Animal Organization of the Year by Best Friends Animal Society.
