Cashew

Cashew is a 12 year-old, five pound cuddle bug, who loves anyone and everyone he comes across. He loves to sit on the back of the couch and look out the window to make sure the neighborhood is safe. When he is not being a superhero guard dog, he is curled up in your lap or if you happen to be lying down, on your chest. He has had are hard life before he came to CAWS, the vet believes he survived distemper at a young age. It left him with some neurological issues; he walks a little funny and sometimes gets angry at his back legs. He might mark in a new home, but that is easily controlled with a belly band, which his foster will provide several of. Once he is comfortable in his new home, the belly band can come off when he is supervised. Cashew is toothless which means his tongue sticks out all time, making him all the more adorable. He eats canned food and loves pureed carrots, apples, and plain yogurt. When he is excited he will spin in circles and jump up if he wants to be held. Cashew is a clever little man with a lot of life in him, put him in an open field and he will run around forever especially if he has a small doggy buddy. He does not do well with large dogs in the home, only at the dog park, and should not be around cats. He loves kids, but because of his size he needs to be treated gently by dog older children.
